Default Nazi Astra's

Read GOPGUY's thread below and thought I'd share these three Astra's.

This Astra 600 was actually one of the 10,500 delivered to the German army between May 16 and July 16 in 1944 and bears the WaAD20 acceptance stamp. Chamber is marked PIST.PATR.08. It does not have the 600/43 marking on the left rear slide like his. It has it's actual German issue holster made specifically for these pistols. Made by R. Ehrhardt in Possneck, Thuringen (bdr 44) it appears to be a standard P-38 holster but has no "P-38" markings on the back. These holsters will be found coded dkk and bdr and are rarer then the guns.

The two Astra 300's in 7.65 were some of the 22,230 also delivered to the Germans in 1944. None of the 7.65 300's appear to ever have have been waffenamted. The earlier numbered one was delivered in Feb and came home to the U.S. after the war in the pictured Sauer 38H holster. Inner flap is stamped TOLKIEN/ PILLAU (east Prussia) with a unreadable number. After the war the Russians evacuated all of the German inhabitants from Pillau and re-named it Baltiysk.

The other one was delivered in April and has the standard issue Spanish made holster with it's distinctive triangle stitching. All of them are well made and show none of the crudeness or shortcuts generally evident on German produced firearms of the same vintage, due in no doubt to the fact the Spanish weren't being bombed to shit day and night.
