Default Old steel.

Welp, she ain't Soviet steel, but she is old steel:

It is a Japanese Arisaka, Nagoya manufacture, 2nd Series, made in about late 1941. Oddly, it has a turned down bolt handle. Damn if the 7.7 x 58mm ammo ain't expensive!

7.7mm is indeed expensive. Be careful in what you buy. There was some surplus ammo floating around a few years ago but it was for machine guns and very very hot. Killed a few old Arisakas.
