Default Professional Ordnance Carbon 15 model 97 rifle

I was digging around in the vault and realized these had not been photographed or put up here.

These very light rifles came out about 16+ years ago. These bantam weight rifles, only weigh in at 4 lbs 7 ounces empty, they almost feel like toy guns, but shoot like champs in my experience with 55 gr fmj as long as you stick to brass cased ammo. Quite pricy when they came out, MSRP was $1700, the price dropped after Bushmaster bought them out. Here is my 97 with a Bushmaster Carbon 15 pistol with arm brace.

NRA dope bag write up specs from 2000.

I was given a pair of PO AR pistols by a friend who bought them new and said they were Jam-O-Matics. Turns out that they were jamming due to OEM Thermold magazines, when outfitted with P-mags they functioned fine.

People forget how important magazines are to the function of guns. These work great with C product magazines. Folks automatically seem to blame gun for issues that might be something else... I watched a fellow at the range the other whining about how unreliable his Sig 716 was. I looked at it. The guy did not clean the packing grease out of it... sigh. Basics are lost on people.

Gopguy, how does the carbon fiber type receivers perform? I am curious due to the wanting of one of these, but am worried that the receiver material is not strong enough. Your thoughts?

I don't shoot these much. PO was bought out by Bushmaster after a small run, so these are in my view collectable investment pieces that go up in value due to scarcity. I prefer to leave my heavy shooting to traditional ARs.

I see. I just figured something other than an aluminum receiver would be weak in the long run.
