Looking at one of these. The steel comes up in a lot of Google searches.

Ah yes 1987....very good year. H.S graduation, started working for auto shop, moved away from parents, moved in with two ladies(who turned out to be so-called "exotic dancers")... and then was introduced to the Buick Grand National. Who needs strippers with a car like that!

Nice pistol GOP. Thanks for sharing pics and info.

Is anyone having problems getting 9 x 18mm ammo? I saw a couple more of these at a local GM store, but they do not sell any 9mm Makarov ammo.

I'm in Tulsa, OK and some gun shops sell this ammo but at about twice the price of 9mm Luger, and for more comparison, sometimes slightly higher sometimes lower price than .380 ACP. So I usually buy online with www.ammoseek.com and www.gunbot.net and www.slickguns.com

SportsMansGuide website had a lot of this ammo with good prices (and free shipping) to choose from, but ya whatever...now most is sold out, on back order, all the time. Recently, I bought from SGammo.com but be careful of the shipping and tax...it's $12 + 8.5% or more for any order.

By the the way, I put together a user's guide with instructions, digrams and parts lists for the P-83 Wanad pistol. Feel free to change or add info in the document, and re-post here or email me petesimon (at) yahoo.com if you do change it. Check out the links below:

I was at the Gander Mountain in Cary, NC last weekend and they had four of these in their used guns case. I was pretty surprised, since previously I think I had seen one P83 ever.

I don't remember the price exactly, I'm pretty sure they were around $350. I've found that looking at the prices on guns at GM is usually only good for a laugh.

They had four or five Yugo M57's in the same case.
