Just a quick note about our forum. (and a few rules)

Soviet-Steel is a discussion community dedicated to Com-Bloc firearms. As you know, there is a huge market in the United States for these robust, reliable and reasonably priced firearms. Whether your preference is the AK-47\AKM variants, Makarov PM, SKS, or Mosin, or other Com-Bloc weapon we got you covered. Do you have a Soviet favorite that we forgot? Please drop the Administrator or Moderator a quick message and suggest it. There is a good chance that you will end up seeing your suggestion put to use. It is my belief that a discussion forum cannot survive with only one member. In order to run a great forum, the users must be allowed to have a broad input in the direction of the forum. I don't consider this "MY" forum. I consider it "OUR" forum. When I established this forum, out of my own love for Soviet weaponry, I personally challenged myself to make this forum a place where the users feel that they have a say in what happens, and where they feel a sense of ownership that makes them take pride in being a member. I cannot guarantee that every suggestion will be implemented, but I can guarantee that every suggestion will be seriously considered, and if it is reasonable, it will happen.

Feel free to discuss anything you wish, here. We are not limited to Soviet weapons only. We have a section for your non-soviet carbines, shotguns and handguns. Want to talk politics, head over to the "Exclusion Zone" section of the forum and feel free to let it rip. Got an adult joke? Let it rip in the exclusion zone. Try to keep the vulgarities and profanity to a limit, but just use your best discretion.

You will notice that this forum is designed in a Soviet style motif. I have had lots of compliments on the artwork, and even a few complaints about the visual references to Communism. I have even addressed one of the complaints by removing the Sickle and Hammer logo that originally graced our front page. Although the owner of this site is dedicated to collecting and learning about Soviet weaponry(and really all guns), I do not condone or support communism. I am a Midwestern country boy, raised in Ohio farm country, voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army in the late 1980's and am 100% pro-USA! Despite its flaws, I love this nation with all of my heart. I am a firm supporter of our Constitution, and an ardent believer in the Second Amendment. We can all enjoy Commie weapons without feeling like we are betraying our country.

Now, for a few rules:

1) Feel free to discuss any topic you want. Need to gripe about your car repair bill, or need advice on how to smoke a turkey? Need to help round out your SHTF bug-out bag or First-Aid kit? Ask it up. We have a diverse crowd, and one of us has probably been there or done that. Maybe we can help. However, please DO NOT make threatening, harassing or subversive statements against anyone. Do not make libelous statements against anyone. We are NOT an anti-government, anti-law enforcement, racist or hate site. (As a matter of fact, our Moderator team consists of federal and local law enforcement officers). If you were here looking for any of the above subversive topics, please find it at a different site. All Second Amendment supporters are welcome here, regardless of who they may be or what walk of life. Non-2A supporters are also welcome, but please know that we will try and educate you on the need to exercise your right to defend your family and home. ;)

2) If you conduct any firearms transactions through our Trading Post, please observe all Federal and Local laws regarding the transaction.
